Keep the quantity unit attached to the amount

A Korea-facing order request can display a familiar currency and still describe the wrong purchase. One source of error is a quantity that changes meaning between the product page and the receiving system. A buyer asks for boxes; a price calculation treats the same number as individual items.

Before discussing a checkout provider, make the commercial example explicit. Which product is requested, what does the quantity count, what price applies to that unit and what stage has the business actually accepted?

Work through one fictional request

Assume an illustrative product is supplied in boxes containing 12 items. A buyer requests four boxes. The approved example price is KRW 1,800 per individual item, with one KRW 5,000 delivery charge for this request. These are invented figures for arithmetic review, not a real quotation, tax treatment or delivery offer.

Step Calculation Result
Convert boxes to items 4 × 12 48 items
Calculate item amount 48 × KRW 1,800 KRW 86,400
Add the stated delivery charge once KRW 86,400 + KRW 5,000 KRW 91,400

Multiplying four directly by KRW 1,800 would produce KRW 7,200 before delivery. That arithmetic is internally consistent, but it prices four items rather than the four boxes requested. A currency symbol cannot reveal the missing unit conversion.

Preserve the rule through every view

The product page, enquiry summary, receiving record and any approved quotation should show enough information to reconstruct the amount. Record the requested unit and the relevant pack size rather than assuming that a field named quantity means the same thing everywhere.

If the pack size later changes, decide how older requests retain their original meaning. Recalculating an earlier request using the current catalogue value could change what the customer asked for. The organisation should approve the historical-record rule before an integration implements it.

Define corrections and exceptions

Ask what happens if the buyer changes four boxes to five, requests loose items or selects a variant with a different pack size. Some cases may be permitted; others may need a manual quotation. The interface should describe the actual commercial rule instead of rounding a request to a convenient quantity without explanation.

A staff correction should make the revised request distinguishable from the original. If a price has already been quoted, the organisation must decide which changes require a new quotation or customer agreement. The software should not infer that authority from an editable number field.

Review input for its real purpose

Collect the information needed for the current stage. A product enquiry may need a reply address and a product reference while a delivery quotation requires additional location details. Explain the purpose of requested information and provide a usable correction path. Do not reject legitimate names or address text merely because a sample record used a simpler format.

Korean labels, validation messages and confirmation text need review in context. A technically valid record can still confuse the buyer if the label describes items while the summary describes boxes. W3C form guidance supports clear labels and feedback; it does not choose the business's unit rules.

Establish payment capability separately

If online payment is in scope, confirm the actual merchant arrangement, supported customer methods, settlement and refund handling with the provider and the organisation's advisers. An example total does not establish provider eligibility, applicable taxes or the availability of a particular local method.

Distinguish a saved request, an accepted quotation, a provider payment result and an accepted order. A return to the website is not by itself evidence that every commercial stage is complete. The receiving team needs an understandable way to investigate an uncertain outcome before asking the buyer to repeat payment.

Accept the complete example

Rehearse the four-box request, a permitted quantity change and an unsupported loose-item request using fictional data in an isolated preview. Check the visitor summary and the staff record against the same approved calculation. Confirm that the explanation remains clear when a Korean reviewer reads the entire path.

The commerce planning page identifies the decisions behind a transaction. For the movement of product and request data between systems, see integrations and data. The first useful deliverable is a rule that both people and software can apply consistently.
